Apple’s Chief Design Officer resigns after 27 years of service

Apple, the worlds biggest technology company, Chief Designer,  Sir Jonathan Paul Ive (Jony Ive) would be retiring from the company. Sir Jony Ive would retire later this year to start his own design company after working with Apple for 27 years. 

Jony Ive new design company would be called LoveFrom and Apple would be one of its major clients. In 2013, he was named one of the most powerful Bald Men by Forbes magazine.  

Earlier this week, on Thursday, Apple announced that Jony Ive would be retiring from the technology company to start LoveFrom and Apple would outsource its design work to Ive’s company. 

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO said in a statement that Jony was responsible for the design of the iMac to the iPhone. 

Cook added by stating that Apple would work closely with Ive and his design firm on exclusive projects. 

Jony Ive would be resigning as the Chief Design Officer (CDO) of Apple and is the man behind the iPhone, iPod, iPad, MacBook. He is also responsible for the designing of parts of iOS and its user interface. 

In 1996, Ive began leading the company design team and since then he has designed most of Apple’s products. He also designed Apple’s retail stores and Apple Park, the company’s headquarters.
